A WORLD OF IMMATERIAL OBJECTS
SERIES: UNMANNED AND INANIMATE
The project pertains to architecture and the built environment and how are these informed by visual perception, objecthood, materiality and their exchange value in society. My hypothesis in this series is that although these constructions exist in public spaces, they normally go unnoticed because of their banality. I capture them to render them worth seeing proposing a new version of them. My conviction is that when I succeed these structures are brought to life in an act of transformation. Life is what I see in them…Other times I see humor and surprise deriving from their common or rare appearance. In all cases, I choose to depict the built environment without people in it. It is only through these becoming objects that I see people.
